Message match

Check that your landing page keeps the promise of the ad.

Tell Klar where visitors come from and paste the ad, keyword or email they clicked. The personas read it first, then your page, and you see how well the page continues that message.

Visitors judge the page against what they just clicked

  • An ad promises one thing and the landing page leads with another, so paid clicks bounce.
  • Campaigns are written by one team and pages by another, often weeks apart.
  • Generic page reviews don't know which ad, keyword or email the visitor came from.

How it works

  1. 01

    Say where visitors come from

Pick the channel (paid search, paid social, email, organic search, referral or direct) and paste the message visitors read before they click.

  2. 02

    Personas arrive from the ad

Each persona has just read your message, and the first question of the interview is whether the page is what they expected.

  3. 03

A scent score and a rewrite

Klar scores how well the headline, visual and offer continue the message, lists each promise and whether the page delivers it, and rewrites the message to promise what the page delivers.

What you get

  • A 0–100 match score

One number for how well the page continues the message, shown on the overview next to the persona score.

  • Promise by promise

Each promise in the ad, marked as delivered on the first screen, buried further down, or missing.

  • A message that fits the page

The ad or email rewritten to promise what the page delivers, for when changing the ad is easier than changing the page.

  • One campaign per review

The traffic source is set per review, so you can test the same page against different campaigns.

Good to know

  • Message match reads text. Image ads can't be uploaded yet; describe the image in the message instead.
  • Each review has one traffic source.

Questions, answered.

Does this connect to my ad account?
No. You paste the message. Klar doesn't need access to Google Ads, Meta or your email tool.
Is the pasted message shown on shared reports?
No. Shared reports leave message match out, since the message is one of your inputs.
